Bringing together heritage and modern utility, Laco and Circula introduce ProLab, a dual-watch collaboration rooted in shared German origins. Designed as a matched pair rather than a single crossover piece, the release speaks to collectors who value purpose, clarity, and honest engineering. The project reflects a lifestyle approach to watchmaking, where design history and everyday wearability meet.
Builds ProLab on a shared hometown legacy in Pforzheim, a city known for industrial watch and jewelry production. Combines Laco’s aviation heritage with Circula’s modern tool-watch mindset. Frames the collaboration as a conversation between two genres by delivering a pilot watch and a field watch together, reinforcing balance rather than novelty. Marks a milestone moment by aligning Circula’s 70th anniversary with Laco’s 100th year.
Switches roles intentionally by letting Circula execute a classic flieger layout while Laco builds a field watch on Circula’s ProTrail foundation. Presents double-signed dials to underline equality between brands. Applies coordinated finishing across both watches, including tool-focused cases, sapphire crystals, and clear legibility. Keeps the designs familiar yet fresh, ensuring each piece remains wearable and recognizable within its category.
Delivers both watches in 40mm stainless-steel cases with strong water resistance and screw-down crowns. Uses sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating for durability and clarity. Powers both models with the reliable Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, offering consistent performance and easy serviceability. Completes the package with sailcloth straps lined in leather, quick-release bars, and finishes matched to each watch’s character.
Limits production to 170 sets, directly referencing the combined anniversaries of both brands. Engraves the casebacks with a map of Pforzheim, visually anchoring the story to place and heritage. Prices the set as a single offering rather than separating the watches, encouraging collectors to appreciate the duo as one idea. Focuses on function and coherence over spectacle, reinforcing long-term value.
By treating collaboration as dialogue instead of decoration, Laco and Circula deliver ProLab as a grounded, purpose-driven release. Appeals ProLab to collectors who appreciate German tool watches built with restraint, history, and everyday relevance.
