Scottish actor Gerard Butler lit up the red carpet in Riyadh this evening as he kicked off the global publicity tour for the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon.
Hosted at VOX Cinemas Roshn Front, the red carpet event welcomed media, influencers and fans from across the region, marking the first international stop for the film’s worldwide tour. Butler, who reprises his role as Stoick the Vast in the new adaptation, posed for photos, gave interviews and met with attendees ahead of the exclusive preview screening.
To mark the occasion, Riyadh’s Kingdom Tower was illuminated with a special How to Train Your Dragon projection, featuring iconic imagery from the film as a tribute to its launch in the Middle East.
The event reflects the growing importance of the Kingdom and wider GCC in global film marketing campaigns, with major studios continuing to bring talent and premieres to the region. How to Train Your Dragon is slated for regional release on 12 June 2025.
