The opening day of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) 2025 at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi highlighted the event’s momentum and ambition. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, ADIBS organised by ADNEC Group, reaffirmed its position as the region’s leading marine industry event.
The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show witnessed the signing of four memoranda of understanding by Abu Dhabi Maritime, highlighting the pivotal role of the exhibition in fostering business, innovation, and strategic partnerships. The MOUs were signed with ADNEC Group, Shorouq Insurance Brokerage, Abu Dhabi Waste Management, and Special Olympics, reflecting a strong commitment to developing the maritime sector and supporting sustainable growth through strategic collaborations. This edition of the show set an unprecedented record as the largest in its history, attracting 1,068 exhibitors and brands, clearly demonstrating the event’s growing international prominence. Participation was divided between 31% local companies and 69% international companies, confirming Abu Dhabi as a central hub where global expertise and local innovation converge, opening new horizons for the maritime industry’s future. The exhibition provides a comprehensive platform featuring leading boat manufacturers and distributors, engine and equipment suppliers, maritime sports innovators, alongside a dedicated lifestyle shopping area, making it a showcase for the latest trends and developments in the sector. Among notable participants, Sunreef Yachts, which owns a yacht-building facility in Ras Al Khaimah, displayed its eco-friendly luxury yacht, /55ULTIMA/, a leading example in sustainable yachting, offering visitors an up-close experience of this modern masterpiece and company operations. Invictus Boats brought its renowned Italian expertise with three key models, /TT420/, /GT360/, and /TT460/, catering to the growing demand for luxury boats in the region. On the local front, Ahmed Obaid Al Falasi’s pavilion stood out as a professional tribute to the UAE’s maritime heritage and wooden boat craftsmanship, featuring hand-made wooden yachts and full-size boats, offering visitors a journey blending tradition with innovation. Each piece tells a meticulously crafted story reflecting decades of creativity and skill, reaffirming wooden boats as an iconic symbol reinterpreted in a contemporary spirit. Captain’s Club, the largest boat club in the Middle East and the exhibition’s diamond sponsor, showcased a wide array of club memberships and more than 200 vessels in its fleet, reflecting the growing trend of membership-based boating as an accessible option, expanding interest in maritime activities and enhancing the recreational experience through innovative member-centric models. In the Knowledge Hub, Sebastian Lee from Sir Marine delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “Driving Maritime Industry Transformation through Innovation and Sustainability.” Sir Marine, based in Abu Dhabi, has over 20 years of experience and has invested in advanced technologies since its founding in 2003. In 2023, the company earned a Guinness World Record for building the world’s largest 3D-printed boat, a 12-meter electric vessel named “Skun,” developed in partnership with Abu Dhabi Maritime, and also created the world’s first electric ferry. The exhibition runs until 23 November, featuring a wide range of exhibitors and family-friendly activities suitable for all ages, focusing on fostering connections, showcasing the latest products, and driving Abu Dhabi’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading global maritime hub. The strong success of the first day indicates an exceptional and impactful edition that will leave a clear mark on the sector in the days ahead and beyond.
