Lilo & Stitch is the latest Disney film to release theatrically in Arabic in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, and Iraq, alongside the English version. This approach has proven incredibly popular – the film has become the highest grossing dubbed title to release in MENA cinemas.

A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, Lilo & Stitch is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the Oscar®-nominated filmmaker behind the animated feature film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, the film stars Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis. Lilo & Stitch is produced by Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin, with Tom Peitzman and Ryan Halprin serving as executive producers.

The film’s historic performance illustrates the power of Stitch, one of Disney’s most beloved characters and biggest brands. Since his 2002 debut in the original animated film, Stitch has built a passionate fanbase with dedicated merchandise available in stores and malls across the region. This includes incredible products across fashion, toys, home, and FMCG retailers, as well as at the Disney Stores in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City and Doha where Stitch items are some of the most popular. Since the film opened in cinemas, the iconic character has made an appearance across most malls in the region! The fun doesn’t stop here.
